Last Thursday marked the start of Alzheimer Society of Dufferin County's 16th Annual Coffee Break campaign, which according to the schedule, will continue for almost a month and will mark its end on October 10th.
Last Thursday, Ms. Laurie Turza, Executive Director of the Alzheimer Society of Dufferin County, also joined Orangeville Councilor Ms. Sylvia Bradley to sign a proclamation and give an official and a grand start to the coffee break campaign and that too, by sipping coffee at Town Hall.
Regarding the situation, Ms. Turza said that the campaign along with aiming to raise maximum funds to help all those individuals and families that affected by Alzheimer's disease also aims big to educate and aware maximum number of people for the noble cause.
"When people are aware of the disease and the signs of it then they can get help sooner and the reason that's important is because the earlier they get help they can go on medications that actually slow down the progress, improve their quality of life", she said.
Almost the entire nation is celebrating and taking initiatives to serve the Coffee Break fundraising effort in order to raise more money to help and support local Alzheimer Societies in their respective regions. So, go to your near coffee shop and give some donation in exchange for your cup of coffee to serve the cause.
